Ocean Sport Legacy 26: Innovation Lives On

The newest addition to Ocean Sport Boats, the Legacy 26, is due to hit the water in January 2014, just in time for the Seattle International Boat Show. The Legacy 26 promises all the quality and attention to detail of its predecessor, the Ocean Sport Roamer.

The Legacy 26 packs a punch with its interior, offering an intuitive cabin layout that allows for maximum use of space, functionality and style. Below deck you will find a double berth and a private, stand-up head. Situating the head below deck allows for unobstructed 360 degree views from the helm – a feature every captain will enjoy.

The forward-facing windows, smart brow and sweeping bow rails give the Legacy 26 the same muscle-car appearance of its big sister, the Ocean Sport Roamer. The Legacy’s deep-V hull, 20 degree dead-rise and reverse chine provide a swift and stable ride in a variety of sea conditions.

The dinette seats four and boasts the option of slide-out seats for additional space at the table. When you are in need of an additional berth, the dinette easily converts to a single bed. The Legacy’s galley is nestled along the starboard side of the cabin, directly aft of the helm. The interior finishings include Corian countertops, teak cabinetry and custom upholstery. At the rear of the enclosed cabin you will find a private mid berth, running port to starboard, with room for two.

The roomy cockpit offers a flush, self-bailing deck and extended hardtop. As with the Ocean Sport Roamer, the Legacy 26 has ample below deck storage. With its 9’ 6” beam, the Legacy 26 is towable with a permit. With a 200 gallon fuel tank, those long runs to fishing and cruising grounds are easily within her capabilities.

The Legacy 26 will be offered with gas or diesel power packages, including both stern drive and outboard options. With a wide variety of options, this vessel is highly customizable and can be built to suit the needs of anglers and cruisers alike.

Ocean Sport Boats, which debuted in 2004 and quickly became the leader in the fiberglass pilothouse market, is built for Islands Marine Center by the Jim Lindell Co. The builder utilizes the most advanced construction technologies and methods available in its 100 percent vacuum-infused vessels. The hull, deck and superstructure are cored with the highest quality materials on the market and all structural components of the Legacy 26 are built using wood-free, composite materials. This translates into a lighter, stronger boat that is not vulnerable to rot.

The Legacy 26 will be available for viewing at the 2014 Seattle International Boat Show Jan. 24 to Feb. 2. For more information, pictures or to reserve your sea trial, contact Sales Manager Tim Slattery at Island Marine Center:  imcsales@rockisland.com or (360) 468-3377.
