One of the region’s oldest fishing organizations is looking for a speaker for its June 20 meeting.
Larry Ngayan, vice president of the Seattle Poggie Club, says the talks generally last from a half hour to an hour.
Past speakers have included Northwest Sportsman ad sales manager, local and Alaska guide Brian Lull, John Calvo of Outdoor Emporium and others.
The meeting will be held at the Wallingford Senior Center, 4649 Sunnyside Ave. N. near the UW, beginning at 7 p.m.
Their name originates from other anglers making fun of their gear, claiming they would only catch “poggies” with what they were using, according to a club history online.
