Early bet on who’s going to catch big fish at next month’s Curlew Lake tiger musky derby?

The Spokane angler caught the 4-foot-long fish out of the Ferry County, Wash., lake this past weekend.
It’s a wee bit smaller than Chris Gades‘ 50-plus-incher from Curlew last September, but for the president of Mountain Muskies, Chapter 60 of Muskies Inc., it’s his best ever and sported a 22-inch girth.
His club and NW Tiger Pac, Chapter 57 of the nationwide organization, will hold their annual duel at the lake Sept. 14-16.
That’s the weekend after Chapter 57′s Jack Tipping Classic on Lake Mayfield.
Organizer Perry Peterson notes that there’s $1,000 on the line for the first angler who catches one of the hybrid fish over 54 inches long.
