Former State Wildlife Manager Sentenced To 125-plus Months In Jail

A former Washington wildlife manager has been sentenced to more than 10 years in prison after being convicted earlier this year of second-degree rape of a coworker.

The Olympian has coverage from Thurston County Superior Court Judge Jim Dixon’s courtroom on the punishment handed down to Greg Schirato this morning.

The judge acknowledged letters of support from Schirato’s family and acquaintances, but also called him a “predator” that the “community needs to be protected from,” according to the paper.

It was also reported that Schirato received 34 months for burglary in the first degree.
