Twitter traffic this hour indicates a possible deal has been reached on Washington’s budget for the next two years, meaning widespread fishing closures wouldn’t need to occur, state parks would be open for the Fourth of July, and game wardens and other WDFW employees would report to work on Monday, July 1.
A tweet from Governor Inslee around 11:30 a.m. said:
Great news: Negotiators tell me they will move quickly to pass the budget and send it to me for my signature.
Austin Jenkins at NPR and TVW tweeted:
Gov says budget deal and no shutdown of government and then he and lawmakers abruptly leave room.
