It’s “happening now” at Buoy 10, reports Buzz Ramsey, among the many anglers (as well as more than a few state biologists) riding the wave of Chinook piling into the mouth of the Columbia River.
The well-known salmon angler forwarded this image just moments ago:
“This fish fell for a Mulkey Guide Flash spinner in the pearl/red dot-finish trolled 60 inches behind a 10-inch Fish Flash,” reports Buzz, a pro staffer for Yakima Bait.
Also down there, Northwest Sportsman’s Andy Schneider.
“It’s been an early morning bite and then dies miserably, so I’m calling it at low tide tomorrow,” he reports this afternoon.
Added Buzz on Facebook with another post showing a pair of anglers with another nice king, “The fishing was good this morning with our Chinook limit happening quickly.”
Tomorrow is the Northwest Sportfishing Industry Association Salmon Challenge.
