Wind River Outfitters Takes You Into Idaho’s Elk Country

Come and enjoy the great outdoors of Idaho and let Wind River Outfitters take care of the details. We offer trail riding, big game hunting, camping, backcountry fly fishing and hiking, but elk hunting season may be the most exciting time of the year for us.

Our hunts can last seven days or more, but hunters need a skilled outfit to lead them into the wilderness. One of the best places to hunt elk is Idaho, where guides take hunters through the beautiful woods of Nez Perce National Forest and Gospel Hump Wilderness. Idaho elk hunting has become a tradition for many skilled hunters, but with guided elk hunts, even the professionals find a better catch.

Elk hunting in Idaho starts around mid-September, during the elk rut and finishes during the elk migration and deer rut, around the middle of November. These are colder weather seasons for Idaho, which is why it’s necessary to go with true guides who have lived in this area for years and understand elk hunting in Idaho better than anyone.

In addition to elk hunting, Idaho also has beautiful lakes, great for fly fishing. Incredible catches can be found through Idaho fly fishing if a person knows the right area. Guided flyfishing takes fishermen right to plentiful lakes and streams, perfect for the fisherman who wants a big haul.

If looking for great hunting or fly fishing vacations in Idaho, choose an outfitter who truly knows their way around the wilderness. For more, see our site for details: www.windriveroutfitters.com

A Fishing Trip To The Umpqua Pairs Well With Wines From The Henry Estate

With more than 30 years and five generations of wine-growing history behind them, the Scott Henry family is widely known for its deep commitment to the viticultural management of its Umpqua Valley farm lands and the production of fine, hand-crafted wines from the many grapes varietals grown by Henry Estate. The Scott Henry family has earned the respect of other Oregon wine industry pioneers, as well as a loyal following of customers and a wide variety of awards and praise from wine tastings and festivals worldwide. It is one of Oregon’s oldest and most prestigious producers of premium wines.

From its meager beginnings in 1978, Henry Estate produced only 2,000 gallons of wine. Today, full production is 15,000 cases, 75% of which is handcrafted from Henry’s estate-grown grapes.

Always striving toward perfection, family patriarch Scott Henry III extended his knowledge and creativity to the family vineyards. He developed a unique trellising and canopy management system that optimizes the maturation of grapes and the quality of the resulting world-class Henry Estate wines. The Scott Henry Trellis System is used exclusively in Henry Estate vineyards, and today, it has been adopted and used throughout many of the world’s finest wine-growing regions including Australia, New Zealand, South America, North America and South Africa.

Henry Estate Winery hosts many events during the year. You don’t want to miss the annual Henry Goes Wine festival in August. We also host weddings, private parties, holiday events and, of course, wine tours. Contact us to experience a consistently well-made, high-quality bottle of Henry Estate wine. We’d love to hear from you.

Be sure to visit our beautiful river-side winery while in the Umpqua Valley. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy it in the lovely Memory Garden, honoring Cal & Ella Henry, built by family and friends in memory of Cal & Ella Henry, who were instrumental in helping Scott & Sylvia Henry get the winery started next to the vineyards.

Together, the estate vineyards and the garden create pastoral surroundings not to be forgotten. The Tasting Room and Gift Shop only enhance the experience for the wine enthusiast and shopper.
