A spin in the Pacific in the Spindrift worked out well for Cindy McIntosh. She caught these two Chinook while aboard the Deep Sea Charters' boat in July.

"On Memorial Day Weekend we went fishing, my husband, daughter and myself," writes Rita Sutter of Kent, Wash. "We went to Pine Lake in Issaquah and were fishing off the public dock. It was kind of raining on and off and the fish weren't really biting. After about an hour I decided we should have a sandwich. I just opened my baggie when my pole gave a quick jerk. I dropped my sandwich and grabbed my pole and started to reel. Tip up, reel down, tip up, reel down (my husband was coaching me). The fish jumped out of the water and I saw it was big. I kept reeling and finally got the fish close to the dock. We didn't bring a net because we didn't expect to catch a large fish. My husband laid down on the dock and reached out to guide my fish safely onto the dock. This was the largest fish I have ever caught. It was 3 1/4 pounds, 18 1/2 inches long and 12 1/2 inches in girth. What a great rainbow trout! Everyone on the dock kept coming over looking at my fish. That was the largest one caught that day. I caught three more (12 to 14 inches) and my daughter caught three fish. My husband got skunked! Usually I just snack and they catch the fish, but it was my day! My husband had just bought me a new pole and the plastic was still on the handle - I think I will leave it on there for good luck." (LAZER SHARP PHOTO CONTEST)
