Most well-armed outdoor magazine editor on the planet at the current moment?
Might be me.
As we prepare for the opening of the Washington Sportsmen's Show in Puyallup mañana, I've got something like 18 huge boxes of knives stacked up right behind me.
(Please, please, no earthquakes, tornadoes or other mass-moving-strength events here over the next 24 hours.)
They're for our special show-only dagger-deal offer: Sign up for two or three years of Northwest Sportsman magazine, get yerself a F-R-E-E Kershaw fillet knife.
These are the big daddy models, perfect for taking on a mess of muggers, err, slicing up a school of bait-mugging spring Chinook or larger fare.

NORTHWEST SPORTSMEN HEAD FOR THE BLUE GATE ENTRY INTO THE WASHINGTON SPORTSMEN'S SHOW IN PUYALLUP. (O'LOUGHLIN TRADE SHOWS)
We're also holding a drawing for a Work Hard Knife & Tool Sharpener and a month-long Web banner ad on our site, nwsportsmanmag.com. Drop your business card off at our booth.
Also at the Western Washington Fairgrounds, the Head & Horns Competition, Indoor Steelhead River, Kids' Trout Pond as well as a host of our advertisers and friends.
The show begins at noon on Wednesday and runs into Sunday afternoon.
It's $12 for adults, $5 for Junior, but go here and download a coupon for $2 off.
Also in town this weekend, the big Seattle Boat Show at CenturyLink Field and on south Lake Union.
If you see any scuffs on the side of boat trailer tires when it opens on Friday, those might be my hoof prints. This week I've been ogling the aluminum and fiberglass parked in the show staging area at the north end of the Seahawks stadium. They're gonna have boats that would fit in everywhere from the harbor of Saint-Tropez, France, to the driveways of St. Maries, Idaho.
Also at the show, 65 free fishing and crabbing seminars, some of which will feature our very own Bryce Molenkamp, the world's tallest kayak fishing columnist. Other speakers include noted saltwater fishing experts like Tom Nelson of SalmonU, salmon skippers Mike Jamboretz, Gary Krein, Keith Robbins and Jim Aggergaard, and others.
Ticket prices are comparable to the sportsmen's show.
See you at the shows!
